A Tudor-Style Home Gets A Modern, Organic Upgrade

Interior Design

Lindsay Thornton, principal of Cornerstone Design & Build, took a multifaceted approach to renovating this family home in midtown Toronto. To achieve the clients’ desired look, she first reworked the main-floor layout, removing walls to transform the cramped galley kitchen into an open-concept space with a stunning 10-foot island. Light oak accents complement the quartz countertops, creating a calming, earthy feel. Fun and bold wallpaper excites elsewhere in the home, such as in the powder room and nursery. “The space feels so much bigger, more open and so much calmer,” says Lindsay. “The clients love living here.”
