In Pt. Pleasant, siding is being removed, hurricane strapping is going on, and with the new slab poured under the house, Kevin O’Connor sees how they’re building the insulated CMU ‘breakaway wall’ panels between the pilings. Built-in flood vents and the absence of any actual connection to the structure allow them to give way under pressure, should disaster strike again.
