🏡 3 tips on choosing the right rug for your space
❤️ Size: Make sure the rug is large enough so that your sofa sits on TOP of the rug. Not behind, not next to… the sofa’s front legs MUST sit on top of the rug- non negotiable. Sofa’s back legs should also sit on top of the rug- but only if your space permits. Sometimes we won’t win them all. The idea is that you get a soft, cushy landing for your feet when you’re seated on the sofa. The larger the rug, the larger your space will look and feel. It’s called an “area” rug for a reason. Your rug needs to define and ground the area and not look like an afterthought.
❤️ Color: This is a personal choice. I consider the area rug a piece of art for your floors. Allow the rug art to help guide the decisions you make in your home. I love a warm, autumnal palette: cozy fall vibes year round. If your wool rug is looking a little dull, have it professionally cleaned and it’s going to look like the first day you brought it home.
