“It was very clear to me there was going to be so much of the outside coming in,” says Trish Johnston, principal of Trish Johnston Design, of this expansive lakeside home’s design brief. To create a nature-inspired feel, Trish opted for warm walnut in the kitchen, dining space and principal bedroom. “It’s such a welcoming wood. We knew we could layer it in everywhere and then let everything else be a bit quiet.” Fluted accents, pops of earthy green and soft, curved furnishings round out the space, while wall-to-wall windows throughout the home showcase picturesque views.
